Release: Revive Australia welcomes One Nation’s return to net-negative migration

Revive Australia welcomes One Nation’s renewed commitment to net-negative migration and its announced plan to reduce temporary visas by 750,000 over three years.

This is a significant victory for Revive Australia and the countless Australians who used our portal to contact One Nation directly and ask for the restoration of net-negative migration. Australians made clear that they want a population policy which eases pressure on housing, infrastructure and essential services, rather than adding to it year after year.

In recent weeks, Revive Australia gave ordinary Australians a simple way to make their views known. Our supporters and members wrote directly to One Nation, shared the campaign and made sure the case for net-negative migration could not be brushed aside.

Revive Australia Executive Director Brian Marlow said the announcement showed that political pressure can still produce real results when Australians organise around a clear principle.

“Net-negative migration is the bare minimum required to begin easing the pressure on Australian families,” Mr Marlow said. “It means fewer people competing for homes, rental properties, hospital beds, schools and infrastructure that is already stretched beyond capacity.”

“Countless Australians used our portal because they wanted One Nation to restore the policy that had won their support. They made their view clear, and they were heard. This outcome belongs to every person who took the time to act.”

Mr Marlow said Pauline Hanson and One Nation deserved credit for listening to Revive Australia’s supporters and their own voters.

“Pauline Hanson and One Nation have done the right thing by restoring net-negative migration. They deserve praise and support for listening, responding and putting forward a serious plan to reduce the temporary visa population.”
